Hey Beauties there are only two more days left until Christmas and I’m sure many of you are knee deep in wrapping gifts for your loved ones and doing all the things. However, tomorrow is Christmas Eve and it’s a time to wind down with a warm drink in our new holiday PJ’s. The usual beverage of choice on Christmas Eve is hot chocolate, however, I want to share a few warm adaptogen drinks that will boost mood, and relieve stress. Here are a few drinks to enjoy this holiday.

Just in case you’re wondering “what are adaptogens” and “how can they enhance overall wellness” here’s a brief description. Adaptogens are non-toxic plants, usually herbs or roots, that help reduce physical, chemical, or biological stressors in the body.


1/4 cup cacao powder

2 tablespoons mesquite powder

4 teaspoons ashwagandha powder

4 teaspoons reishi mushroom powder

4 teaspoons maca root powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup whole raw almonds, soaked overnight in 3 cups of filtered water

1 cup unsweetened shredded dried coconut

4 cups filtered water

1 to 2 medjool dates, pitted

1 pinch fine sea salt

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract


2 cups unsweetened nut milk

1 15-ounce can full-fat coconut milk

1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg + more for serving

3 5-inch cinnamon sticks

1 pinky-sized hunk of ginger (sliced thin (can substitute 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger))

15 black peppercorns

6 pods cardamom (smashed)

1 star anise (optional)

1/8 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional; for a bit of color only)

6-7 medjool dates (pitted)

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt


2 cups  nut milk

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (1 teaspoon maca powder or adaptogen powder of choice (eg ashwagandha)

1/8 teaspoon or a few small drops peppermint extract

fresh mint garnish
